Shaun Cassidy (@shaunpcassidy) is the latest celebrity from my past who I have rediscovered on social media and personally dubbed a Twitter National Treasure (TNT). The 1970s Hardy Boys heartthrob only joined Twitter in August 2014, but has made a mark with his thoughtful, compassionate and sometimes humorous remarks.

A little boy who happily wears a dress to school sparked a convo with our kids about how we define people. By their looks? No. Sex? No. Words? Deeds?Sometimes. How about character? YES! CHARACTER! CHARACTER! Then, the 13 yr old: “Except with politicians.”

When I was 12, my mother took me to a screening at Paramount for a new film called “The Godfather.” It immediately became my favorite movie of all time. Tonight, I screened it for my 12 year old. He loved it as well. We have very strange rites of passage in our family.
